My ex husband serve me on our son birthday in front of my son. I feel like I am a failure not able to keep a family for him. Just disappointed but not surprised I just wish I was loved. But I guess it’s better things end.
I am so sorry for your experience. You are definitely not a failure and if he was able to do that on your son’s birthday, an event which is meaningful to all of you means he has no emotional intelligence and did not care at all about you and his family. I wish you and your son has a strong support around you to get through this.
As someone who has experienced it, but without kids, it’s important that you lean on friends, family, etc. This discussion forum won’t let me say the name, but you can search Divorce groups. It was a game changer! You meet once a week and they provide meals as they know most people don’t eat like they should, and you are surrounded by people going through divorce in all stages of life. You are stronger than you know!
