I got dumped…

We were together for 8 months, and I’m now 13 days out from the breakup. I was the one who got dumped, she went Facebook dating to find a fuck buddy, then I found out she was fucking someone… A big part of what I’ve been trying to process is how confusing and inconsistent the relationship felt, especially looking back. There were good moments, which is part of why it’s been so hard to make sense of everything, but there were also patterns that left me feeling emotionally unseen, confused, and like I was giving more care than I was receiving. One of the biggest things I’ve realized is that there were times when I ended up caring for her emotionally in moments where I should have been the one getting cared for. Instead of my feelings being centered or supported, the focus often shifted back to her emotions, her reactions, or her needs. That created a dynamic where I was often the one reassuring, comforting, or managing the emotional atmosphere, even when I was hurt or when something had affected me. Over time, that made me put my own needs to the side and prioritize keeping things calm or making sure she was okay. Looking back now, that imbalance feels really important because it shows how often I was stretching emotionally while getting less support in return. Another thing that stuck with me was the mixed energy she gave off. Sometimes she could be sweet, affectionate, or make it feel like there was a real connection, but other times she came across as shallow, detached, or overly sexual in ways that made me feel reduced rather than genuinely cared for. One example that really stayed with me was when there was a cute question like ‘what’s your favorite part of my body?’ and instead of saying something playful or affectionate like my smile or hair, she just said ‘your dick.’ That moment bothered me more over time because it made me question whether she really valued me as a whole person or if a lot of her interest operated on a more surface-level or objectifying level than I wanted to admit. A lot of my pain now comes from trying to understand what felt like a switch-up in her behavior. I keep going back and forth wondering if she changed suddenly, if this side of her was always there and I just didn’t fully see it, or if I ignored certain signs because I cared
