How can you gain your appetite back from the breakup?

it’s not even that i don’t want to, it’s that I have a very un easy, knots in my stomach when I just can’t eat. Even me trying to move on and distract myself texting other people, It’s not getting any better only worse.

I lose my appetite whenever anything really hard happens in my life. Here’s a few things I try to do. I use this affirmation: it’s my responsibility to take care of myself. I try to make eating as easy as possible. I usually start with really small snacks, like fruit snacks for example. Something that I could just eat a few small bites of. Then I notice that I usually want to eat more. I’ll put these snacks in places I’m at a lot to help me get more food. You could try scheduling times to eat too if you feel so distracted by overthinking that you forget mealtimes. A small amount is better than nothing. Also soup might help because it’s very liquid and still filling. Then after you eat even if it’s just a little, pay attention to how much better your mood feels.

I have a similar thing, my therapist told me that people deal with stress differently. Some carry it in their stomachs / guts (like us), others in their shoulders, etc. I’d say the thing that helps me when I’m feeling stressed / not eating well is to do a workout of some kind. Running, hiking, etc. always makes me feel hungry afterwards, even when I’m not hungry before
