Advice please

I had recently broke up with my boyfriend because he was controlling,and expected me to wear cloths he only liked yet I don’t always fell like wearing what he liked because I’m insecure. He had also said he didn’t like my bra strap showing because he thought I would cheat on him. So I need advice because it is a hard break up on me and i don’t know how to get over it and now he is saying that the brake up was unnecessary
